My first post

Hey hey everybody. My name is Alex, and I decided to try my unsuccessful entry to the blog world.

Please allow me to introduce myself:
I am 18 years old and a student at the University of Connecticut. At the moment, I am an engineering student, but that is subject to change at any point in time. I have a couple of close friends, and more peripheral friends than I can think of. I guess the best way to get to know somebody is to know what media they like.

For movies, I like pretty much anything, but my favorites are Pulp Fiction, The Lord of the Rings, Alien, Munich, Little Miss Sunshine and all that jazz. There are so many more, but I don't want to bore you.

In the music department, I like almost anything. Except country. I cants stand most country stuff, but as always, there are exceptions. My favorite bands/musicians are The Who, Jay-Z, The Rolling Stones, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Queen to name a few. I absolutely HATE (sorry mom, I know I'm not supposed to use the word hate, but it applies) the crap that they call rock on the radio today. The All American Rejects are not a rock band, they are a yelling about how sad they are band. Rock is The Stones and their ilk. The best new rock is by the Australian band Jet. They are as good as some of the classic rock of the old days. Thats enough ranting.

My hobbies run to the nerdy side. I play games on my Xbox 360, especially Gears of War and Oblivion. I listen to podcasts and read digg. The best podcast in the world is Filmspotting. It's about movies and is hosted by two really knowledgeable people who know movies and make listening fun.

Thats about it for now. I'm thinking this will be a daily kinda thing, and I have no idea what I will write about. We shall see how it goes...
